THANK YOU!!!

WE DID IT!!!

With all of you chipping in, supporting this project, and spreading the word, we are able to make Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall a reality! We funded on DAY 1 and continued to unlock 20 stretch goals, even coming down to the wire for the last one. From all of us on the development team, we want to extend out biggest and most heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every one of you.

So What Next?

Over the next few days we'll be getting the BackerKit approved and set out to all of you. That's our first priority. Once we get the confirmed list of all backers from Kickstarter after collecting pledges. Once this is confirmed, we'll be getting all of the date over to our fulfillment partner, and our factory partner. We'll be receiving the last of our written material and art assets, getting those all through edits and approval and getting them to the factory for proofing over the next month or so, and you can be sure we'll keep you informed of any changes or modifications to our timelines.

Digital Print and Play material will be laid out and sent to all backers via the Wet Ink Games DriveThruRPG store around the same time we send materials to the factory, so you'll have that in hand and be able to play the game before your physical copies arrive. We know many of you are eager to play Jiangshi with your groups, so this will definitely scratch that itch.

When it comes to designs and games, you will definitely see more collaboration between Wet Ink Games, Banana Chan, and Sen-Foong Lim in the very near future, and we all have projects we're working on individually as well. We'll be keeping you in the loop for all of these great projects too. You will not want to miss out of what's coming next.

What Are We Supporting?

We have a very large team and a huge network of other designers, artists, and creators we want to support. So many of our dear friends have projects going right now, or have some excellent products and spaces we want to raise up. Maybe one or more of these will grab your attention, and if they do, please throw your support their way. Check these out!

Cafe Chaos

Cafe Chaos is a family friendly card that features the world’s most chaotic food fight. Brandon's kids are super obsessed with this pretty great web series, and was told to back this even before it hit Kickstarter. It looks like a lot of fun, and we're pretty excited to get it to the table with the family. Click  HERE to back on Kickstarter today.

Wanderhome

This gorgeous game of "pastoral fantasy" by the Ennie-Award winning Jay Dragon is going to be another one that simply knocks it out of the park. It's a game about "traveling animal-folk, the world they inhabit, and the way the seasons change. It is a game filled with grassy fields, mossy shrines, herds of chubby bumblebees, opossums in sundresses, salamanders with suspenders, starry night skies, and the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine." If that doesn't make you want to curl up with a hot cup of tea, some friends, and tell some amazing stories, I don't know what will.  You can back Wanderhome HERE!

Dragonflight

This awesome 5e compatible books dives into playing and using dragons in your games like no other resource has. We love dragons, and are always looking for new and creative ways to integrate them into our games, and this one hits all the beats. Check it out HERE!

Axon Punk: Expanded

From our friend and fellow IGDN (Indie Game Developers Network) member, Colin Kyle, comes Axon Punk. This game of HipHop-inspired Cyber Punk looks sooo cool, and is very close to reaching it's funding goal. You can go help push it towards the finish line and check out the quickstart rules HERE!

Dissident Whispers

Dissident Whispers is the first issue of RPG adventures from the Whisper Collective. It's an anthology of 58 original RPG adventures made by a diverse, international collective of creators in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. All proceeds go towards bail funds. We have a number of friends who contributed, and Jabari Weathers did the amazing cover. You can find it HERE and HERE!

Honey and Hot Wax

Honey & Hot Wax is an anthology of games about sex by a diverse group of 10 designers, edited by Lucian Kahn and Sharang Biswas. This is another resource by diverse creators that touches on subjects that are not normally explored in healthy or safe ways in gaming. You can find out more HERE!

Jeeyon Shim

Now, we know many of our friends and creators have a variety of sites to promote their work, but we really anted to highlight the amazing work done by Jeeyon Shim.

"I'm Jeeyon Shim, and I make games that face the world. My work guides players to (re)connect with the natural world through emotional, resonant experiences in their play, and in doing so connect to their communities and themselves."

Please do yourself a favor and go check out the amazing work she is doing HERE!

Don't forget about dinner!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Aug 13, 2020 at 09:05:28 PM

Hey everyone! We're approaching the 48 hour mark of the end of the Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall campaign. Those of you who have backed projects before know the last 48 hours of a campaign can get pretty crazy. We're hoping to unlock some more Stretch Goals and make some really cool announcements.

For those of you who have just joined the campaign over the past few days, we wanted to extend an invitation to you all for a special LIVE Q&A event we'll be doing Thursday August 18th. As you know, the campaign ends that evening. Join designers Banana Chan, Sen-Foong Lim, Publishers Brandon K. Aten and Matthew Orr, and some special guests as we count down to the end of the campaign, eat dinner, talk about some of the awesome things we've unlocked, enjoy each other's company, but more importantly, chat with you all and answer all your questions!

  • When: Thursday, August 13th 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Eastern (We may extend to 9:00 PM depending on discussion)
  • Where: Wet Ink Games YouTube Channel
  • What to Bring: Yourself, your dinner (Noodles and Dumplings optional), questions about gaming, design, art, Jiangshi, food, cooking, etc.

A Most Auspicious Stretch Goal!!!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Aug 13, 2020 at 09:05:15 PM

Art Print UNLOCKED!!!

WHAT!?! This was amazing to see right after lunch! We added these goals as special THANK YOU rewards for all of you backers, and you all didn't disappoint. With this, we've unlocked a second special art print only available in the copies of this game. There are different than the signed Steven Wu prints of the Deluxe pledge tier and the signed Kwanchai Moriya poster add-on. You all are amazing!

Next, we'll be adding Gold Foil to the box, followed up by custom dice for every physical copy of the game. You may also notice that we've revealed our Virtual Tabletop stretch goal too. These next 31 hours are going to be crazy, but if you all have shown us anything, it's that the sky is the limit!

All That Glitters...

Gold Foil UNLOCKED!!!

I promised myself I wasn't going to post a picture of the giant crab from Moana, but I've been singing that song all afternoon. You all have crushed the goal for adding gold foil to the box, and now we move on to our last component upgrade: the custom dice!!! If we reach $100k in the next 28 hours, we'll be upgrading all dice in every physical copy of the game to new custom designs!

What a Day!

Well, this is it. This is the home stretch for the campaign. As we reach the end of the funding period, we want to thank you all for your dedication to this project, all the kind words you shared throughout, and the spreading the word for the project we've seen you all do across social media and beyond. You all are such  instrumental piece in just how much of a success this has become, so again THANK YOU from all of us. We're sure that isn't the last time you'll hear that from us today. Check out these two announcements!

Kwanchai Moriya's Birthday!

When we selected the end date for this project, we had no idea it was going to coincide with his birthday. This is such a happy accident though, since Kwanchai's work for the cover of Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall has amazed us from the very beginning and has been instrumental in setting the tone of the setting for many of you.

We've had people ask more than a few times, so we wanted to give you a reminder that there is an option to add an EXCLUSIVE SIGNED poster of his stunning work to your pledge. If you would like, you can just increase your pledge amount by $50, and you'll be sure to get your very own copy.
