Latest Updates from Our Project:

BackerKit, New Art, and MORE!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Oct 01, 2020 at 12:14:55 AM

We hope everyone is doing well as we get ready to enter October! We wanted to post a quick update about where we stand.

BackerKit

As of right now, we have a little over 200 people who still have not completed their BackerKit survey. If you want to ensure you get your game delivered on time and avoid any potential increase in shipping cost due to not being part of the initial freight shipments, you must complete your pledge in the BackerKit survey. If you haven't received your survey, please reach out to us by sending a message to us here, and we'll be glad to get that worked out for you.

New Art!

As we were going through the layout process, we found a few places where we wanted to add some new art to the core book, so the always awesome Steven Wu has been hard at work churning out new images for us to include. They look great and will only continue to make this game something really special. We know you'll love it.

Dark Places & Demogorgons 5e

As we enter October, we want to point you in the direction of our next project. Wet Ink Games has been working with our friends over at Bloat Games to develop an updated version of their fantastic game of 80's teen horror, Dark Places & Demogorgons. We've assembled a fantastic team, and we're really looking forward to bringing that game to life. It should be launching on Kickstarter on October 27th, so be sure to click the link below to follow along and be updated once it goes live. You can also check out some of the really great art by Alex Coggan and the cover by Charles Ferguson-Avery below.

Survey Reminder and Quick Update
over 3 years ago – Sat, Sep 26, 2020 at 02:42:27 PM

Hey all! As of our last update, a number of you reached out with any issues you had regarding your survey, and we're glad that we've been able to help out. If you haven't yet completed your survey, or if you are having difficulty, please don't hesitate to send us a message, and we'll see if we can help troubleshoot your issue.

We received the core book back from editing and it's headed to layout today! We're in the process of getting the other scenarios collected, and most of them are in, and will be on their way to editing soon.

We'll definitely keep you in the loop as production continues, and we'll be sharing information about upcoming projects too. If you're into retro 80's/90's horror, we're going to be producing Dark Places and Demogorgons using the 5e rules set, and it's coming along well too. Just take a look at this preview art...

Please Complete Your BackerKit!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Sep 21, 2020 at 12:09:20 AM

Hey everyone! As we keep working towards completion of the project so we can get it to the factory for production, we need to remind all of you to please complete your BackerKit. This is crucially important so your pledge can get shipped to you, and so we make sure we can fulfill any digital rewards owed to you. Completion of the survey only takes a couple minutes.

Please let us know if you have any problem completing or accessing your survey.

BackerKit Surveys have been SENT!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Sep 01, 2020 at 07:45:17 PM

BackerKit

Hey everyone! As many of you have already noticed, the BackerKit surveys have been sent out. We already have about 54%of them returned which is GREAT! Please be sure to get it filled out and submitted as soon as possible to make sure we have all of the correct information for fulfillment. There are a few  things of note we want to draw your attention to.

  • Exclusive Signed Kwanchai Moriya poster: We are printing a very small run of posters of the cover of Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall to be signed by the always amazing Kwanchai Moriya. This project, will be the only way to get your own. If we have any left over after fulfillment, we will make them available at convention appearances.
  • The Chinatown Longevity Fund: Instead of a "tip jar" that some projects have, we have committed to donating to the Chinatown Longevity Fund which makes small business grants available to businesses in New York's Chinatown. We will match up to $2000 of donations, and you all have already contributed over $900. Have we told you yet that you are the absolute best?
  • Upgrading your Pledge: Did you back at $1 or $20 and want to upgrade to a physical copy? You will need to select your current pledge amount near the top of your pledge survey, and you'll be able to select a different pledge there. We've had a few people try to select the physical add-on, which will still get you a physical copy, but won't apply your initial funds. If you have problems, please use the BackerKit support tool, and Brandon will respond to help out.
  • Retail Backers: We've had a couple requests for an add-on for additional retail copies. We'll be adding those options for you today.

Other Pre-Orders

While you're in BackerKit, you may want to check out these two recent projects from Wet Ink Games and Game and a Curry which are available for pre-order while our BackerKits are still open.

Never Going Home Campaign Dossiers

These campaign sourcebooks for the Ennie-nominated Never Going Home RPG of eldritch horror in the trenches of World War One, cover three new theaters in the conflict. Take your players to the Battle of Gallipoli, engage with naval forces in the North Sea, or play your role in the Russian Revolution. Through the pre-order link you can get the core game and all supplemental material as an "All-In" selection. Check it out HERE!

Battle of the Boy Bands

In Battle of the Boy Bands, 3 to 5 players take on the roles of producers in the pop music industry and must build boy bands to compete in special events. The player with the most points at the end of six rounds wins.  During each round, players try to win the event in play by building the boy band that will earn the most points according to the special event rules. Equipping perk cards from the "Breaking News" deck to boys can give them extra points. Players can sabotage each others' boy bands by playing attack cards from the "Breaking News" deck against them, but watch out! Players can also protect their precious boys with defend cards! Check it out HERE!

Surveys, late pledges, and cool projects!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Aug 25, 2020 at 08:39:17 PM

Hey everyone! It's been almost two weeks since the end of the campaign, and we've been knocking stuff out left and right behind the scenes. The custom dice design is being worked on (we hope to show those off in a future update), the core book is in editing, and we're finalizing our production numbers for the factory. All in all, we're moving at a pretty good pace. What does that mean for you? Well, we're glad you asked!

Surveys!

You may have seen Kickstarter collecting your pledges over the past few days. That's great news because it means we're one step closer to getting the surveys out to everyone. Everything is already built in BackerKit, and we're about to launch the smoke test which send the survey out to about 5% of the backers to make sure we can iron out any issues that arise in the process. If things go well, then we'll send surveys out to everyone. We plan to have the surveys open for about 5 weeks so we can follow up on any stragglers, but then we'll be getting everything over to the factory and fulfillment partner.

Late Pledges

There have definitely been some people interested in late pledges. If you know of anyone who wanted to back, but couldn't, please direct them to this Kickstarter where they can click the late pledge link, or send them to the PRE-ORDER STORE HERE! The game will still be available at retail, but you'll only be able to get the DELUXE version from one of our retail backers, from us at conventions, or through this pre-order. The signed Kwanchai Moriya poster is also an exclusive through us, so if you want to get that, you should do that sooner rather than later.

Other Cool Projects

Mnemonic

In this unique TTRPG, you take the role of Weavers who interpret the memories of the world and tell the stories of her past heroes. It is an "anti-canon" setting where you can grab the pieces you want and run with it, while allowing you and the other players to jump into the story and fill in the rest by answering questions about the world. Check it out HERE!

Orbital

ORBITAL is a TTRPG Zine that gives us airlocks and control panels, pensive faces looking out into the cosmos, improvised fixes for critical systems, military-sponsored subterfuge, warm embraces in the cold vacuum, frantic struggles in zero-gravity and unknowable ancient technology, asking WHAT DO YOU DO NEXT? The art is gorgeous, and the concept sounds like a ton of fun. Check it out HERE!
