Production, Print and Play (PNP), and Surveys
over 3 years ago – Thu, Dec 03, 2020 at 08:54:30 PM

Hey everyone! Now that we're in December, we wanted to give you all a good update regarding production, layout, and Print And Play files for all of you.

Production

You all have been absolute champions through this process. You all have continued to spread the word about this awesome game, and have been inspirations to us through this last half of 2020, when things have gotten really crazy all around the world. That said, we wouldn't be in this position without your help and without the hard work and dedication of our production team.

As of our last update, we let you know that almost all of the print components were laid out and we shared a preview of the box. Well, as of now, we've managed to put some final polish on all those components, started chewing on some images for the custom dice sets, added some great art to the core book, and (and this is the exciting part) received ALL of the scenarios, even those we thought we were going to have to wait on. Those should all be through preliminary layout over the next few days!

All of these components will be going to the factory once we wrap them up and can get them all through preliminary proofing there. What does this mean for you all? Well, as the factory takes the components we send them, they'll be able to update us at multiple points through the proofing and production process, and we'll definitely be keeping you all in the loop with some pictures of the components and we'll even be trying to get you all some behind the scenes videos on the proofing approvals.

Print and Play

Now, you may also be noting that these aren't at the factory yet, so we won't be able to have physical copies in your hands by the end of the year, though that's still looking good for sometime in Q1. However, you will have the Print and Play version of the game sent to you sometime this month! We're going to make sure this is all sent out to you all and in your hands before any digital versions are made available to the general public, because again, without you all we wouldn't even be in the position.

We'll continue to update you each and every step of the way, and can't wait to hear from you when you start to dive into the game.

Surveys

Most of you have managed to complete your BackerKit surveys and get them back to us. We'll be keeping the BackerKit open a few more weeks, probably until the end of the year. HOWEVER we strongly encourage you to complete this as soon as possible. We have about 100 backers who have yet to complete theirs, and we want to make sure you are able to get your rewards as part of the bulk freight shipments, and without incurring any additional shipping fees.  If you have not completed your survey, or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by sending us a message here through the Kickstarter, or through the BackerKit. We'll get back to you as soon as possible. We're here to help and have already helped dozens of you get through that process.

Questlings

Finally, we want to share that Banana Chan is also working on another really awesome project which is in its last week. Questlings is an RPG-inspired children's book series and RPG game system about finding your Inner Hero. This project for a children's book and RPG is going to be such a wonderful family game. We hope you are able to get in and support it. You can check it out RIGHT HERE!

Layout and Production

Hey everyone! We just wanted to give you a quick update on production. Presently, we've gotten the entire core book, board, and all Mung cards completely through layout, and the scenario book is being put through the wringer as we speak. We also have this awesome box mock-up Matthias put together. We'll be meeting with our logistics contact next week, and also getting the last template we need from the factory. Things are looking REALLY great, and we know you'll love this once it gets in your hands.

Questlings

We also wanted to share that Banana Chan is also working on another really awesome project which goes live on Kickstarter soon. Questlings is an RPG-inspired children's book series and RPG game system about finding your Inner Hero. This project for a children's book and RPG is going to be such a wonderful family game. We hope you are able to get in and support it. You can follow along by clicking this image below and liking the project.

Layout First Pass Complete!

Hey everyone, we wanted to take a moment and give you a quick up date on production and show you some of the stuff that's been completed, and we'll definitely share more over the coming weeks.  First and foremost, the first pass of layout on the core book has been completed. We took some time this week to go over the document and made some tweaks, but it's looking sooooo good. We even had a few opportunities to get some more art from Steven Wu. We know you'll love it.

Defeating Jiangshi Card (Not Final)
Layout Sample (Not Final)

Unfortunately, due to some timing challenges, Mabel Harper and Jeeyon Shim's scenarios will not make it to our printers by the deadline, but we will still be publishing their scenarios in digital format and they will both be released online for FREE to all backers. We will still have several scenarios in the printed version itself (up to 14!) so you'll still have plenty of content to go through, and are even introducing a new writer, Noordin Ali Kadir!

Dark Places & Demogorgons Launches on Tuesday!
